URLongener®

"The internet is too efficient. We're fixing that."

Technically Operational
The only BizByCT venture that works

The Problem

For decades, the technology industry has been obsessed with making URLs shorter. Bit.ly. TinyURL. t.co. The entire culture of link shortening has gone unchallenged, accepted as obvious progress. No one has asked: what are we losing?

We are losing length. And with length comes security, gravitas, and the unmistakable sense that a link was generated by a serious organization that thought about it. Short links look suspicious. Long links look thorough.

CT noticed this while hovering over a suspicious shortened link and thinking: "I would trust this more if it were longer." URLongener was conceived six minutes later.

The Solution

URLongener® is the world's first enterprise-grade URL expansion platform. You provide a short, suspicious, untrustworthy URL. We return a long, professional, confidence-inspiring one that goes to the exact same place.

The product is live. It works. It is the most functional thing CT has ever built, which is either encouraging or a comment on the other things CT has built.

Example output:

Input (suspicious)
https://bit.ly/3xK2mPq
↓ URLongener Enterprise Process ↓
Output (trustworthy)
https://urlongener.com/redirect/enterprise/v2/destination/verified/secure/professional/trustworthy/link/go/3xK2mPq?utm_source=urlongener&utm_medium=expansion&utm_campaign=confidence&session=authentic&validated=true&expanded_by=URLongener_Professional_Enterprise_Grade_URL_Expansion_Platform_v2_dot_0

The expansion algorithm appends trust signals, enterprise terminology, and confidence-indicating path segments to ensure the recipient knows this link was taken seriously.

Market Opportunity

The global URL shortening market is valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. URLongener is positioned as the direct antithesis of this market, which is either a contrarian play or a mistake. We believe it is the former.

Target customers include enterprise compliance teams who need URLs that look like they came from an enterprise, security-conscious individuals who distrust all short links, and anyone who has ever hovered over a bit.ly link and felt uneasy.

CT has used URLongener 47 times. He is the only user. He is satisfied.

Business Model

URLongener will operate on a freemium SaaS model:

  • Free Tier — Up to 10 URL elongations per month. Moderate length increase.
  • Professional ($12/mo) — Unlimited elongations. Maximum confidence parameters. Priority trust signal insertion.
  • Enterprise (Custom Pricing) — Custom domain elongation, branded path segments, dedicated account manager (CT)

Current MRR: $0. Projected MRR after funding: optimistically more than $0.

The Team

CT — Founder, Full-Stack Developer, and Power User. Built the entire platform over a weekend. Has used it more than anyone else, which is to say, exclusively. Genuinely proud of this one. It really does work.

Use of Funds

  • $5,000 — Infrastructure scaling (currently running on a $6/month server, which is fine)
  • $4,000 — Marketing (explaining URLongener to people who keep asking "why")
  • $3,500 — Product development (adding more trust signals, longer maximum output)
  • $2,500 — Enterprise sales (LinkedIn outreach to compliance officers)
Honest Disclaimer URLongener is a real, working product. The URLs it generates are genuinely longer and genuinely go to the same destination. CT uses it regularly and has no plans to stop. The business model is theoretical. There is a meaningful philosophical question about whether longer URLs are more trustworthy that URLongener does not attempt to answer — it simply assumes the answer is yes. Investors should be comfortable with this assumption. The $15,000 target raise is more than this product probably needs, but CT has plans for the remainder that he is still working out.
